With my avocado mask project I wanted to address the growing problem of micro-plastic being used in beauty products as many squeaky-clean cleansers and exfoliants contain micro-beads.
Avocado pits and peel are thrown away after use, and I found a way to make organic cosmetic product from the pit. Using the pit as an exfoliants, the benefits are e. Both for humans and the environment.
Avocado peel waste can also been turned into packaging material.
The face mask exfoliant is rich in minerals such as calcium, magnesium and potassium. It is loaded with essential fatty acids, antioxidants, protein, and other substances that have substantial benefits for your skin.
Tiny particles of plastic have been added to thousands of personal care cosmetic products sold around the world. These microbeadsplastics, hardly visible to the naked eye, flow straight from the bathroom drain into the sewer system. Wastewater treatment plants are not designed to filter them out microbeads and that is the main reason why they end up swirling around the world’s oceans.
